Datuk Ang Chin Tat

Datuk Ang Chin Tat (David) was conferred the title of Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N.) by the fourteenth Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 2016 which carries the title of ‘Datuk’.


He is the Executive Director of Hydropipes Industries Sdn Bhd. He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia in 1996.


Datuk Ang devotes his time to the Tung Shin Hospital in Kuala Lumpur where he has sat on the Board of Directors since 2014. He has been active since 2015 as Chairman of the ICT sub-committee, member of the Finance sub-committee and Traditional Chinese Medicine sub-committee, and recently in 2022, member of the Western Medical Management sub-committee. He became an Executive Committee member of Tung Shin Hospital in 2017 and has held the posts of 2nd Deputy Secretary General (2021–2023) and 1st Deputy Secretary General (2023–current).


He is also involved in education and Chinese clan associations, i.e. member of the Board of Directors of SMJK(C) Mun Yee (Setapak) Kuala Lumpur since 2006, committee member of Eng Choon Kuala Lumpur since 2012, Youth Vice Chairman of the Ang Clan Association (2008–2013), and Youth Vice Chairman (2009–2013) and Advisor (2014–current) to the Chong Ma Association.


In the area of property management, Datuk Ang holds posts as Chairman of the Building Management Council for Menara PGRM (2015–current) and Menara PGRM2 (2016–current). Between 2009 and 2019, he held roles as Secretary and Treasurer of Building Management at Wisma BU8.


He was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Malaysia Timber Certification Council (2017-2018) and Bar Council Malaysia’s Human Rights Bureau committee (2010-2015).


Datuk Ang lists diving amongst his hobbies – he qualified as a PADI Diving School Staff Instructor in 1995 – besides skiing, badminton and exploring nature as a member of the Malaysian Nature Society. He collects old coins and notes and enjoys watching live coverage of the Premier League.
