About MDPM

About MDPM

The Council of Federal Datuks in Malaysia (Majlis Datuk Persekutuan Malaysia – MDPM) comprises of recipients of the Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N.) and the Panglima Setia Diraja (P.S.D.) bestowed by the King of Malaysia (Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-pertuan Agong). The Council was established on the 29th of May 2002 under the auspices of the first President, Professor Datuk Dr Hj Mohamed Mydin Bin Mohd Musa and his Committee.

The second President of MDPM was Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi who served from 2011 to 2019. Datuk Awalan Abdul Aziz led the council from 2019 to 2023 as the third President. Currently, the fourth and incumbent President is Datuk Iskandar Abd Malik, serving from 2023 to 2025.

Mission & Objective

To promote and foster goodwill and fellowship among the members of MDPM and to foster a good working relationship with the government of the day as well as the various official State Datuk Associations of Malaysia. MDPM also promotes the concept of a Caring society to help the needy and less fortunate citizens of Malaysia through various charitable campaigns.

MDPM Membership

Membership to MDPM is exclusively open only to recipients of the Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N.) and the Panglima Setia Diraja (P.S.D.) by the King of Malaysia (Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-pertuan Agong).

Every application for membership shall be proposed by two MDPM members and sent to the Secretary, who is required to submit the application as soon as possible, to the Executive Committee for approval. The Executive Committee may in it’s discretion accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.

About P.J.N. & P.S.D.

Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N.)

Commander of the Order of Meritorious Service (Panglima Jasa Negara – P.J.N.) is the one and only rank of The Distinguished Order of Meritorious Service (Darjah Yang Mulia Jasa Negara). The award recipient receives the title ‘Datuk’ and his wife ‘Datin’.

This rank is limited to 675 living recipients at any time, excepting foreign citizens who are conferred honorary awards.

Panglima Setia Diraja (P.S.D.)

Commander of the Order of Loyalty to the Royal Family of Malaysia (Panglima Setia Diraja – P.S.D.) is the highest class of The Most Distinguished Order of Loyalty to the Royal Family of Malaysia (Darjah Yang Amat Dihormati Setia Diraja). The award recipient receives the title ‘Datuk’ and his wife ‘Datin’.

This rank is limited to 200 living recipients at any time, excepting foreign citizens who are conferred honorary awards.
