Datuk Iskandar Bin Datuk Abdul Malik’s illustrious corporate journey stands as a testament to his exceptional leadership and strategic prowess. Commencing in 1983, he embarked on his ascent by assuming the role of director at KUK JE Corporation’s Malaysia Branch in Seoul, Korea. Over the years, he has occupied pivotal positions, serving as chairman and director at distinguished companies. Additionally, his expertise has been instrumental as a board member for various government-linked entities.
A significant highlight of Datuk Iskandar’s career was his tenure as chairman of the Sabah Oil and Gas Contractors Association (SOGCA), where he exhibited his remarkable proficiency in navigating the dynamic and fast-paced industry. Additionally, his dedication was evident during his 8-year tenure as a Board Member of Asian Based Supply, making him the longest-serving board member. As the Group CEO of KOP Mantap Berhad, he demonstrated his capabilities by leading the investment arm of the renowned Royal Investment Cooperative Berhad (KPDRM). This underscored his strategic insight and executive leadership skills, ultimately yielding an impressive 14% return to the Police Cooperative.
In education, Datuk Iskandar was a group CEO of UniCorp, Board of Governor of IUKL, CEO of Yayasan Sabah College, and CEO of the Faculty of Jabatan Pendidikan Politeknik.
In recognition of his outstanding service to the nation, Datuk Iskandar received prestigious accolades. In 2019, he was conferred with the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N), and in 2005, he was honoured with the Darjah Amat Mulia Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (P.G.D.K), both titles of distinction.
