VM2026 International Golf Invitational
In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, the VM2026 International Golf Invitational, jointly organised by Majlis Datuk Persekutuan Malaysia (MDPM) and the Entrepreneurs Section of the Federation of Hokkien Associations Malaysia, was successfully held at Kelab Golf Negara Subang on 5 and 6 September 2026.
The two-day event attracted more than 200 golfers, distinguished guests and participants. The golfers came from Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong, China and other regions.
The tournament adopted a pairs format, bringing together golfers from different countries and regions in Kuala Lumpur. Besides providing an opportunity for participants to showcase their golfing skills, the event also promoted interaction between Malaysian and international golfers. Both evening banquets and prize-presentation ceremonies were attended by distinguished guests.
The official dinner on 5 September was graced by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Chiew Choon Man, who commended the collaboration between community organisations and the private sector in promoting Malaysia as a preferred destination for tourism, sports and international events. He also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute towards the success of Visit Malaysia 2026.
Those present included the President of the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Malaysia – Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. (Dr.) Lim Hock San, JP, President of MDPM cum Vice President of the Federation of Hokkien Associations Malaysia – Datuk Alvin Tee Guan Pian, Vice President of MDPM – Datuk Bill Tan, CEO of the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Malaysia, Entrepreneurs Section – Dato’ Tony Ong, among others.
The tournament featured nearest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one challenges, together with a prize presentation ceremony and lucky draw. A memorable highlight was the outstanding performance of the tournament’s youngest participant, aged just 13, who emerged champion alongside her partner.
VM2026 International Golf Invitational reflects MDPM’s commitment to strengthening international engagement, promoting sports tourism and fostering meaningful business and community connections.
Through strategic collaborations such as this, MDPM continues to support the aspirations of Visit Malaysia 2026 while showcasing Malaysia as a welcoming destination for global visitors.
