Datuk Dr. Hj Ahmed Tasir Bin Lope Pihie was conferred the title of Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N.) by the twelfth Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 2002 which carries the title of ‘Datuk’.

Datuk Dr. Hj Ahmed Tasir is the current strategic advisor to Strand Aerospace Malaysia as well as advisor to Authentic Venture Sdn Bhd. He was founder CEO of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) under the Prime Minister’s Department, and elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia in 2007 in recognition of his contributions to the development of science, technology and industry in Malaysia.

Well-read in the academic field, Datuk Dr. Hj Ahmed Tasir earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Science and Technology Policy from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom in 1990, a Master of Science from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 1978 and a Bachelor in Agriculture Science (Hons) from Universiti Malaya in 1976. He received his high school education at the Royal Military College (RMC), batch of ’68.

Datuk Dr. Hj Ahmed Tasir has served as the inaugural Chairman of Oldtown White Coffee Malaysia. He also sits on the Board of Governors of Meritus University in Kuala Lumpur.
