Managing Organisational Change towards Sustainability

This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities necessary to navigate and lead in the dynamic world of sustainability. 

Sustainable practices are crucial for addressing environmental, social and economic challenges in the modern world. This course explores the intersection of sustainability and change management, providing participants with the tools and strategies necessary to lead their organisations in making the transition towards more sustainable and responsible business practices. Participants will gain insights into sustainability frameworks, stakeholder engagement and the process of planning, implementing and evaluating sustainable change within an organisation.

This course empowers participants to become effective agents of change within their organisations, driving the transition towards sustainability. By the end of the course, they will have the knowledge and skills to plan, implement and evaluate sustainable change initiatives and foster a culture that embraces sustainability principles.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles and importance of sustainability, including its environmental, social, economic dimensions and how these relate to organisational change.
  • Acquire knowledge and skills related to the fundamentals of change management with a specific focus on change initiatives that drive sustainability.
  • Explore and apply sustainability frameworks, standards and best practices to guide organisational change efforts towards sustainability.
  • Learn how to identify, engage and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to build support for sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop the ability to plan, design and implement sustainable change initiatives, considering the specific needs and context of the organisation.
  • Learn how to measure and evaluate the impact of sustainability initiatives including the assessment of environmental, social and economic outcomes.
  • Understand the role of organisational culture in sustainability and explore strategies for promoting a culture that embraces sustainability principles.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the fundamental principles and dimensions of sustainability and demonstrate how they relate to organisational change.
  • Apply change management concepts and methodologies in the context of sustainability including understanding the stages of change and resistance management.
  • Apply relevant sustainability frameworks and standards to guide and assess sustainability initiatives within an organisation.
  • Identify and engage diverse stakeholders including employees, suppliers, customers and the community in support of sustainability efforts.
  • Plan and implement sustainable change initiatives, considering the unique context and requirements of their organisation.
  • Measure and evaluate the impact of sustainability initiatives including assessing environmental, social and economic outcomes.
  • Understand the role of organisational culture in sustainability and be able to promote a culture that aligns with sustainability values and practices.
